My passion lies with assessing and diagnosing hearing issues in the paediatric population. Childhood hearing loss can negatively impact on a child’s speech, learning and behaviour. Timely treatment and intervention are key but navigating appropriate referral pathways once hearing loss has been detected can be confusing and complicated for both parents and health professionals. This often results in unnecessary delays and wastes valuable intervention time. Earbox promises to bring clarity and efficiency to the whole process ensuring no child ‘falls through the cracks’.

About Janice

I graduated with a Master of Clinical Audiology from the University of Western Australia in 2007. Since then I have worked in a variety of audiology roles in Bunbury and Perth. Recently I completed a short-term contract at Perth Children’s Hospital with the Newborn Hearing Screening Program. For many years I have worked as part of a multidisciplinary team (comprising speech pathologists, paediatricians etc.), which focuses on early childhood intervention and diagnosis of developmental disorders e.g. autism, Global Developmental Delay, ADHD. I also spent 12 months in Ireland working in various paediatric audiology clinics for the Health Service Executive (HSE). I also provide audiological services for several private paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat specialists.
